From Glory to Glory

From Glory to Glory
Music and lyrics by Dan Halvorsen

Here's another GC original. This one was created as a celebration of all that God has done, once you take a moment to look back and realize it. I tried to emulate the vocal sound Delerious captured in their song Inside Outside from their World Service album.

Not what I deserve remix

Not what I deserve (Redo)
Lyrics and music by Dan Halvorsen

I've never been happy with how the original version of Not what I deserve turned out. The vocals got lost in the muddy, muddle of instruments. I recently finished a course on mixing music. I've got a lot to learn, but I did clean up the mix on this song a bit. The vocals are much more present and you can still hear the band loud and clear. I think the song is still missing some energy, but it's a lot better than my first mix.
Here are the results!

The broken redeemed

The Broken Redeemed
Lyrics and music by Sean Lukanen

This is a song that Sean Lukanen wrote. The first part of the song is about being broken and...you guessed it...the second part is about being redeemed.

As usually happens when Sean and I get together, the creative juices were flowing and the Spirit was guiding :)

Time and again

Time and again
Lyrics and music by Dan Halvorsen

Ummm, yeah...this was an attempt to break a bout of writer's block.

Not what I deserve

Not what I deserve
Lyrics and music by Dan Halvorsen

Jamie wrote a sermon on Grace and I searched, but couldn't find any songs on the subject that I liked. So, here's another GC original. P.S. Our very own Redhead Dan is rocking the drums on this bad boy :)

She Rises

She Rises
Lyrics and music by Dan Halvorsen

This song is based on Psalm 103 and was written to accompany a sermon for which this was one of the texts.

Psalm 72

Psalm 72
Lyrics and music by Jamie Miller

This song purely and beautifully inspired. It's one of those simple, yet haunting melodies that keeps with you long after you finish singing.

Be Praised

Be Praised
Lyrics and music by Dan Halvorsen

This song was really a prayer of mine for the GC. The song is based on the Lord's prayer. Every time we sing this song, I long for God to see this in us and all that we do as a community.

Table

Table
Lyrics and music by Dan Halvorsen

This song was written in memory of Penny and Caty, two close relatives of members of the GC who died at a stage of life that many of us would consider "before their time." We continue to sing this song in the hope that we will once again hear their names spoken at the table of our creator.

Rest my soul

Rest my soul
Lyrics and music by Dan Halvorsen

This song is based on psalm 116 and was written to accompany a sermon on relying on God's character.

Shout it out

Shout it out
Lyrics and music by Dan Halvorsen

This song was my attempt at writing an "arena rocker." That didn't happen and we have never sung this and probably never will. Happily, we're getting better at this songwriting thing.

If I'm Silent

If I'm Silent

Lyrics by Gretchen Miller
Music by Jamie Miller

This was our second GC original recording. Gretchen Miller added this beautiful tribute to a life well lived to our lives and we haven't been the same since.

'Til You're All I Need

Til You're All I Need
Lyrics and Music by Dan Halvorsen

This was recorded during our third GC Retreat. It was one of the first GC original songs we ever had and we're still rocking it today!

Everywhere I am

Everywhere I am
Lyrics and music by Lisa Beth

This was our first GC Recording. It took place during the Praise Your Face Off at our second GC retreat and stars our beloved Lisa Beth, who's website indicates she has an album coming out soon.
